This hand-built ceramic piece mirrors the quiet strength and open-hearted warmth of my mother. With every curve and fold, it captures her spirit: always welcoming, always nurturing. She’s the most caring and loving person I know, someone who finds a way to connect with everyone she meets, even strangers at the supermarket. My mum has always taught me the importance of independence, to live fully, and that life is to be enjoyed every single day. She’s shown me spirituality and what it means to have an open heart, and we even started exploring ceramics together a few years ago. Now, every time I’m back home, we spend afternoons covered in clay, learning from each other, and creating beautiful messes. It’s funny how when I was younger, I tried to be different from her, but now I see how lucky I am to become more like her every day. I’d be honored to be even half the woman she is.
