Aba

Aba—a vase that embodies the grace and strength of my paternal grandmother. She was born in Ukraine and moved to Uruguay as a baby, carrying with her a quiet resilience and a deep love that I will admire forever. Ceramics were also a part of her life; some of her pieces still grace a special shelf in my parents' home in Uruguay. Perhaps my love for ceramics is something passed down through the generations. I still remember her incredible light blue eyes and how she’d gently scratch my head with her long nails. I miss her every day. This vase, with its hand-thrown curves and unique scars, is my way of honoring her memory—imperfect yet beautiful, just like her. 'Aba' has now found its new home in Germany, carrying her story and spirit with it.
